Academy 14107 1/350 USS Indianapolis Battleship CA-35 Plastic Model Kit
The USS Indianapolis CA-35 was used by the U.S. Navy in the Pacific War and it delivered the first operational atomic bomb to the island of Tinian. Torpedoed and sunk July 30, 1945, there were just 317 survivors from a crew of 1,196.
Clearly, Academy has done its homework for this ALL NEW TOOLING kit. It bristles with armament, including 8” main guns, 5” guns, a quad 40 mm and twin 20 mm cannons. It features a scale SC-1 Seahawk search plane, life rafts and floater nets, search light, carefully reproduced radars, aircraft steam catapult, nicely defined superstructure, propellers and countless other skillfully crafted details.
