Product Description
In the late 1960’s when the first Soviet MIG-25 was recognized by western powers the high performance MIG caused a sensation in aviation and defense industries. The aircraft demonstrated un-expected sophistication in performance and avionics.
The most famous MIG 25 (known as red 31) was flown by Lieutenant John Belenko who flew the high performance MIG to Hakodate Japan on July 27 1976. The defection of the Soviet pilot gave Allied intelligence the first opportunity to closely inspect the high performance MIG-25.
A few MIG-25’s still operate in Air Force units of a few countries including Libya, India and Algeria.
This Minicraft kit offers markings for the following aircraft:
USSR, MiG-25 “Red 31”, defector to Japan, 1976.
USSR, MiG-25 “Blue 83”, ca. 1972.
Libya, MiG-25 “Black 6716”, date unknown.
